CMMI in Pakistan
Pakistan, our homeland is pretty strange country in many ways and the standards are not an exception to the way we perceive any new development or change.
CMMI, a model of best practices in terms of IT and Project Management is still a relatively new concept in Pakistan but the way the companies have now started moving towards it is really encouraging. I have been blessed by God to become the first Pakistani CMMI Lead Appraisal and this means end to dependency to damn expensive foreign consultants / appraisals.
We are trying to pass on this liverage to the local industry in a manner that its a win-win situation for all the stakehoders and so far we have started making some humble progress in this respect.
Now more than 15 of out IT companies have achieved Maturity level 2, 3 and even ML-5 ( highest). I feel really happy to be a part of this quality journey and really wish best for the industry.
I need support, comments, critics from you so that we can improve and your suggestions will really enable all of us to achieve new milestones in this field.
